A scientific delegation from Mathabah conducted an academic trip to Switzerland, visiting universities and research institutes to explore collaboration opportunities.
Why Switzerland? Switzerland ranks first in Europe for the highest number of international students. It is the second globally in student population proportion. It has the highest number of Nobel laureates per capita. Ranked first worldwide in scientific publications.
Visit Highlights 1. University of St. Gallen (HSG): Discussed potential partnerships in research, innovation, and development focused on Hajj and Umrah.
2. Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL): Explored opportunities for collaboration in scientific research, technology, and innovation relevant to Hajj and Umrah.
3. Engagement with Scholars: Met with 12 Muslim scholars at EPFL Innovation Park from diverse scientific fields. Focused on recruiting distinguished experts in priority areas.
Key Recommendations Encourage scholarship students to pursue education at accredited Swiss universities. Facilitate an international cooperation agreement between Umm Al-Qura University and Swiss institutions. Invite EPFL researchers to Saudi Arabia for knowledge exchange in Hajj-related expertise.
